Julie’s reaction (and this is 6 days after her sister’s death) :
So….did she write that about us????? Because as I read on and on, it described our friendship and conversations together to a tee. It’s absolutely beautiful, and I could picture moments of our history together as I read it. I’m so grateful for you, Thea❤️
Took me to an elevator I stood in years ago. Filled with women from my office. Everyone quiet though. Someone had died we’d been told and watched the men we worked with around us turn into zombies. One spoke out loud “Thank god we women fucking share.. “
Gloria Horton-Young (who Stirs the Storm): 53 years with the beautiful woman, Nancy, I LOVE, your poems speak very much to the person SHE is and to her relationships with her friends.
Yup, IMO, it’s true that women got the human race this far. Intelligent men learn their lives simply work much better when they recognize and accept that fact.
Women get the lion's share of emotional/mental strength, I believe. Probably a better deal than upper body strength and writing one's own name in the snow.
It would be an incredible advantage outside of a patriarchal world.
This is a tribute to my soul sister Julie, whom I befriended in 1981, in sixth grade. We are still the closest of friends, and I count my blessings daily. Thank you for writing what I feel every time we get together. 🤗 ❤️⚡️
I am envious of these words...my friendships with women that are deep and meaningful have been few and far between, usually ending in some weird judgmental or competitive way. I have a couple that have lasted over the years, though. I am so grateful for them. Beautiful writing, Gloria. ❤️
United to stand, gather together to band the broken branches to build a fire that prepared food for the clan. Age old wisdom shared held hands dancing in moon 🌙 light. Night cloaks secrets to protect solidarity , keep truth free from timber clubs that once grazed heads. The state of mind continues to waltz forward but have a partner that agrees to help support your back and walk next to you as equal to respect your choice.
There’s not a single man at this gathering. 💜

Tears of happiness. Hugs to you both.
And to you!

" their connections, an intimate dance of trust and truth's essence.
(..)
moon-to-moon, a gathering, a lunar ritual, to recount their lives' ebb and flow."
How beautiful is that ?
Sometimes magic gifts us with unforgettable moments.
“Moon to moon” !!!!
My heart still hasn’t quit swelling ….

Yes. Exactly. We spill the raw and the good equally. It’s what gives us the strength to persevere.
A tribute to friendship and the resilient bonds of a love that does not surrender to god or man.

These are keepers!
I hope this poem connects with a wide range of audiences. 💙
Armand, I simply adore the way you talk about “your Nancy.” Swoonworthy!
Your writing style evokes an air of elegance.
What a beautiful compliment. Thank you, Stanley.
This was lovely and I need to start dining where you do. Mostly I’m occupied trying to keep my dinner away from my housemate’s dog…
We struggle to fight off our herd as well. LOL
I could only wish for a piece of your talent and this last one confirms why I am your friend
Every time I share a meal with you, my dearest Mother-in-law, it’s just that special. 💙
This is excellent. Thanks for the reminder. 🌜🌝🌛
You are welcome.

I wish someone would put this to music! xo
I’d like music inspired by the rhythm and cadence of Lady Gaga’s song “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood”

How do we get more mattiarchal societies?
I’m pondering an answer.
Matriarchal* me wurd gud

Thea, your reply brought tears. To be able to touch someone’s heart - it’s indescribable.
I hope you will share the poem with your bestie. 🩷
I will!! 🙏🏻
Thea, please tell me the reaction she has. ❤️
I will!!

There’s every chance you’ll meet your tribe on here. ❤️
Thank you and even though I feel super-grateful for your early hours of creativity, I encourage you to get at least 7 hours of sleep.
It is false that we need less sleep as we age. If you have time, please read some of the book: WHY WE SLEEP.
I will. 💜 I’m one of those sleepers who go to bed at a decent hour, wake up for a couple, then fall back to sleep.

Beautiful as always, Richard.
Eloquently stated. Folks with such a fine command of words are treasures. Thank you for sharing them.
I appreciate your reading my work. 💙
Powerful, Gloria!
Thank you, Diane.
It’s very moving because it’s so true, Gloria! You are so talented!
Diane. 💙💙💙💙💙
