It's inevitable.

Before Obama it was considered impossible that a black man would ever occupy the office. Although I always consider the labelling questionable. I have long said "That black blood must be powerful stuff! Consider the term 'octoroon', 1/8 black, 7/8 white - still can't join your damn country club!" Barack Obama is half white. He has dark skin, but not nearly as dark as a lot of South Asians, and they are considered a Caucasian race.

By the end of this century, possibly within my lifetime, there will be a female American President, maybe even a trans one or a lesbian. And I look forward to the day, although again, not in my lifetime, when skin colour will stop having a slot on the census form and will go back to what it started out being - a geographic adaptation to UV resistance and vitamin D uptake. It is considered an article of anthropological faith that we originated in sub Saharan Africa. If you go back far enough, your ancestors were black!
